good news, great drive and bad news - PAH!

well my rear spoiler now has a lovely big scrape on it where someone reversed a van into it. I can't prove it but I know who and what did it. Guess I will have to buy that rev5 unit afterall!

Went to Ullapool last weekend for the drive. No other reason, just the drive. Drove up Loch Lomond side through Glen Coe, onwards to the Caledonian Canal and then by the lochs all the way to Inverness. Was an awesome drive but a bit too much traffic on the Loch side, it happens. However the drive from Inverness to Ullapool was sublime. Utterly awesome section of tarmac that is just built for the hoon.

Saturday night was spent at the Broomfield Camp Site, recommended I have to say. Many many beers were consumed in the pub and then Sunday was spent trying to get breaky from a local cafe. Wonderful when we got it.

Sunday morning drive was then up to Lochinver which is a fantastic road but the afternoon was spent doing the Gairloch loop back to Clunie Inn. Staggeringly beautiful road to drive along, bliss and even more so with the recent tarring it has received. Anyways, on with the pic of the weekend.

PS - the video camera was tried and although I got some amazing footage it still cut out quite a lot. It's on ebay as we speak. Time for a proper bullet cam and DVR setup methinks

not a good week -

camera mount has pretty much been tried to exhaustion and I can't isolate the vibrations without resorting to bubble wrapping the darned thing but, then I can't remove or fit it with any speed. One ebay bargin coming up lol.

Got a nail in the rear passenger tyre and it's through the carcass. Will try and get it repaired but preparing myself for the worst.

Someone has scored the rear wing just behind and above the rear wheel. Thanks, I hope you felt better for doing that to someones car. Very big of you

camera mount sorted -

now just to actually try the beggar. Will need to bolt the centre consule into the car then start on the height setup of the main mount. Hopefully that will provide all the adjustment I need but I have some left in the camera mount for that. Pics to follow.

All being well the fitting and testing will happen tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath on this lol.

good day, bad day

good day - getting almost all the bits for the camcorder mount. Also getting a cheap set of rachet spanners for 15quid

bad day - kerbing the front passenger alloy while parking.

Sometimes I wonder about myself, I really really do. Sigh

not much happening -

weather has been awful with more rain than dry periods never mind actually being sunny. Global warming, pah not even close.

I'm in the process of fitting together a camera mount for the camcorder I acquired. It's an HDD based unit so I'm having to construct a damped assembly to prevent the road bounce cutting the unit out. At the moment I'm trying to use an old LCD mounting unit as this will give me height adjustment and a good solid base to mount the camera too. Hopefully it will work, failing that just go back to a simple bolt down design.

I did however come across this vid, nothing to do with cars / bikes but still pretty awesome
