indeedy. Up til now all my testing has been in 3rd gear cause it's a lower speed but still a load on the turbo. Anyways, 2 days before xmas I'm driving along the motorway and put my foot down in 5th, up a hill. Boost rises like a rocket and the car surges forward then boost drops and after a slight pause builds up again. Ah, that will be overboost then.
The EBC is set to cut boost at 1.2Bar so mmm what's happening here then. I turned the Gain down on the EBC but still overboosting. Time for some serious testing but in 5th gear. Now that's not exactly slow speeds we are talking about here so how the heck do you test for it?
Well was quite easy as it turns out. Xmas night nobody about, not even a fooking doormouse so roads are totally empty. Foot down in 5th see what happens. Still a bit high so turn the gain down a little. After a couple of runs it worked out just fine. Boost in the lower gears is still up at just over 16psi which is just enough thank you.
I've turned to position 1 on the EBC so boost levels are back to std which is plenty this time of year thank you.
On another note, the 2nd pre-rad has been purchased from the wonderful Ebay. Hopefully it will arrive in one piece and be working. Looks ok in the pics. Mmm will it all fit together though?
